Thank you for your enquiry about playing Overseas using a Golf Link number from Golf Australia.
Golf Link Number
As there is no shared world-wide handicap database, the Club will be unable to check the Players current Handicap & Playing History.
The Player can request a Playing History from the current Home Club or Golf Link as proof of their current active GA.
Handicap
The changes made for World Handicap System mean that handicaps are calculated in the same way across most of the world and therefore an GA handicap can be utilised to set a similar Overseas Handicap.
Golf Link Handicap Eligibility
The decision on whether to allow Overseas Scores to be handicapped is at the discretion of the Club but is permitted under GA's World Handicapping System (WHS).
The Scorecard should be counter signed by an Officially Handicapped Golfer (GA or Overseas).
Overseas Golf Club
Golf Link has a generic Club called Overseas Golf Club that all Clubs use to allow Overseas Scores to be submitted.
Overseas Golf Club ID: 89999
The submitted Score will not specify the Name of the actual Club played at.
