Thank you for your enquiry about transferring to an Overseas handicap from Golf Australia.
Golf Link Number
As there is no shared world-wide handicap database, the Club will be unable to transfer the Players current Handicap & Playing History.
They will be created as a new Member for the new Overseas Club and their current Golf Link number will go inactive if they are no longer a Financial Member of their Australian Club.
Should the Player return to Australia they will be able to reactivate the number and if required have Overseas Scores added to it.
Handicap
Once the new record is created the Club need to enter the Players last 20 rounds as per their Handicap History as Ad hoc Scores.
The changes made for World Handicap System mean that handicaps are calculated in the same way across most of the world and therefore an Overseas handicap can be utilised to issue a similar GA handicap.
When completed this should ensure the Player is issued a Handicap commensurate with their previous GA Handicap.
Playing History
The Player can request this from the current Home Club or Golf Link.
