Thank you for contacting Golf Link regarding the calculation of a GA Handicap under the World Handicapping System (WHS).

We would strongly suggest reading the article published by GA on their website, in particular PART D: Operational Guide, item 18. How your GA is calculated under the WHS, and the importance of your Score Differentials - https://www.golf.org.au/whs/

For people who have at least 20 scores in their handicap record, their GA Handicap will be calculated simply by averaging the best 8 of their most recent 20 ‘Score Differentials’. Unless the Cap Regulation applies.

**Score Differentials affected by an exceptional Score calculation will show with a - minus number to their right and this number should be taken off the Score Differential for the purposes of calculating the GA.

For people who have fewer than 20 rounds in their handicap record, the table below is used to calculate their GA Handicap. The table determines the number of ‘Score Differentials’ from the player’s handicap record on www.golf.org.au that are to be included in the calculation, as well as any adjustment that needs to be automatically applied.

We hope this explains how the calculations are done and if after checking your handicap using the correct values for each field you still believe there is an issue please email help@golflink.com.au.  We will require your Golf Link number, date of play, the Club and Course you played on, if you could please include this in your reply.
