WHS - Understanding - GA Handicaps Under 20 Rounds

Modified on Tue, 15 Oct at 11:51 AM

Thank you for contacting Golf Link regarding the calculation of a GA Handicap under the World Handicapping System (WHS).

As a Player who has fewer than 20 rounds on their handicap record, there are slightly different calculations used until you reach 20 rounds submitted where the standard best 8 Score Differentials are used.

The table below is used to calculate your GA Handicap.

The table determines the number of ‘Score Differentials’ from the player’s handicap record on www.golf.org.au that are to be included in the calculation, as well as any adjustment that needs to be automatically applied.

We would strongly suggest reading the article published by GA on their website, in particular PART D: Operational Guide, item 18. How your GA is calculated under the WHS, and the importance of your Score Differentials - https://www.golf.org.au/whs/

**Score Differentials affected by an exceptional Score calculation will show with a - minus number to their right and this number should be taken off the Score Differential for the purposes of calculating the GA.

We hope this explains how the calculations are done and if after checking your handicap using the correct values for each field you still believe there is an issue, please email help@golf.com.au.
